See more of him on my
flickr photostream!
I made this for the Skully Show taking place at Chuckwa in mid-May. My first urban vinyl custom, and my first show, whee!
That being said, this was a BLAST to work on - I have a munny blank that I've had for months, that I was too scared to experiment with. :P Now I know exactly what I want to do with it... started on it this morning, in fact! Stay tuned. :)

Hey Shelly, great first attempt with the vinyl thing. If you don't mind me asking, how difficult is it to have your own vinyl character produced? What's the experience like?
To be honest, I don't entirely know! I just modified the one pictured for the show. :)
I know that it can be prohibitively expensive, just from looking around in curiosity. Which is why I took to resin casting instead, to create my figures (which I need to finish!). A lot cheaper, for sure.
You might want to ask Steve Talkowski, I know that right now he is shopping his character, sketchguy, around for quotes. He's a really awesome (and friendly) artist, I'm sure he'd be happy to answer your questions. :)
Ahhh resin casting, I see, but it must be a thrill to see your artwork in the (resin) flesh. I can imagine you going big time with miniature figures heheh. Good luck, you seem to have enjoyed yourself creating that, yeah?
Oh, thanks for the heads up, I'll check out Steve Talkowski's place. I'm no character designer, but I'm curious to know about the process since vinyl figures have great potential to be great businesses. Nothing's more satisfying than making money from the things you're so passionate about. Just my 2 cents.
Don't mind my English :P
It is still pretty exciting to see a duplicate of your work, resin or vinyl or whatever, really! Armies of silly little creatures. :)
Thank you! ;_; I am currently too distracted by my other hobbies, I need to buckle down for SDCC and get these babies rollin'.
Steve will probably be able to explain it to you perfectly. :D And I hear ya on the passion vs money thing! Its definitely my dream to achieve that someday. :)
Your English is just fine. :D
Wow, it looks awesome!!!! (I had a pirate patch in early sketches of my design.. lol ;) ) Can't wait to see the show in person!
Emily, I am jealous! I wish I could go. Take lots of pictures!
